OUR 2017-2018 MEETING CALENDAR

The Birmingham and Worcester Business Media Club programme comprises ten monthly meetings from September to November and January to July.

Here’s our 2017-18 programme in full:

September 2017 – SHAPE YOUR 2018 COMMUNICATIONS PLAN

2018 started here – by getting on message so you say the right things to the right people in the right way to win trust and gain confidence in your business. It all starts with you telling us why you do the things you do…

Skills: Creating an on-message board, communications plan, content calendar and priority pecking order.

This was our fourth anniversary meeting so it also featured success stories and ideas our members had developed.

October 2017– CHARACTER MARKETING

Marketing the character of your business should be your number one goal so you build trust and win hearts and minds – and truly connect rather than merely communicate with your target markets.

Skill: Blogging.

November 2017 – A SPLASH OF INSPIRATION

Learn to present a vision and mission of your business in order to achieve buy in to your business or venture – by inspiring people and focusing on why you do what you and how you do it. We also ask who inspires you and why so you can emulate those characteristics in the way you present your business.

Skill: Presenting and pitching ideas and developing you own storyboard/pitch deck.

January 2018 – THE POWER OF STORYTELLING

Get telling rather than just selling by creating a narrative of your story and making belief a priority in the promotion of your business.

Skill: Creating a PR campaign to promote your business

February 2018 – REACH OUT

Start spreading the news among your target online audience by creating quality content – and lots of it – to increase your credibility and boost your lead generation.

Skill: Social media marketing and creating your own ‘news editor’ content calendar.

March 2018 – TARGET AND FOCUS

Learn to shape customer relationship journeys and tap into your audience wavelength(s) by listening, relating and then connecting with them.

Skill: Newsletters and e-shots.

April 2018 – PROTECT YOURSELF

Arm yourself with a contingency plan that will enable you to protect your business from a media and communications crisis.

Skill: Being GDPR ready.

May 2018 – DESIGN AND DEFINE

Learn to define your seemingly indefinable qualities and how to replicate them so you win more business and how to promote the work you’ve done by creating your own brand and using visual media and blogs, case studies and testimonials.

Skill: Video blogging.

June 2018 – GAIN CONFIDENCE

Learn to win trust and gain confidence by being an effective communicator so you can make the most of speech making, presentation and networking opportunities.

Skill: Public speaking.

July 2018 – CO-ORDINATE

We’ll revisit the strategies and schedules introduced throughout the programme and put it all together to create a dynamic communications and marketing plan that will boost your profile and reputation and enable you win fresh business by promoting the character of your business.
